About Us

We are Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust (LNT)

and since 1997 we’ve been the Community Hub for Lockleaze in North Bristol – a large estate mainly built in the 1950s and 60s, which now ranks as the fourth most diverse ward in Bristol.

Lockleaze is a fantastic place to live with a creative, resourceful community who look out for one another. As a ward of nearly 14,000 people we have some serious local challenges around housing, hardship and health, but we’re a community with deep roots, who value joy, togetherness and our green spaces.

our vision

Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust’s vision is to create a fairer, healthier, more sustainable Lockleaze for the whole community. All our activities and projects are community-led based on the priorities of our residents. Here’s what we do:

  • Community Support: Hubbub, our weekly community cafe with advice drop-ins chosen by residents on housing, health, disability and money
  • Health and Wellbeing: Wellbeing Walks, Art for Wellbeing, weekly drop-ins
Stalls for 'resilience network' clean energy and street goat at a busy outdoor event
  • Community Spaces: stewarding The Hub on Gainsborough Square and our temporary space at St James Church on Romney Avenue, on behalf of our community. Hire our spaces or attend a class or event.
  • Play Patch Community Soft Play: is a friendly soft play centre where under 5s and their families connect to their community, engage in safe, creative play, and enjoy healthy home-cooked meals. Find out more here.

our values

  • Welcoming & Kind: Putting care at the centre of our work
  • Community-Led: Putting the priorities of our community first
  • Inclusive: Create a fair and inclusive Lockleaze for all
  • Connective: Creating connections and making space for joy
  • Collaborative: Working in partnership wherever we can

“More than just a venue, it’s a heartbeat for the area, where culture, faith, and community all blend seamlessly.”

Our Lockleaze Community Plan 2026-30

In 2025 and 2026 we refreshed our community plan through a new community survey and thousands of conversations. The new Our Lockleaze Community Plan for 2026-30 sets out an exciting and actionable plan for our community, and forms the backbone of everything that we do.
