We are Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust (LNT)
and since 1997 we’ve been the Community Hub for Lockleaze in North Bristol, bringing our whole community together to create change.
Lockleaze is a a large 50s/60s estate, and the fourth most diverse ward in Bristol. Its fantastic place to live with a community who look out for one another. As a ward of nearly 14,000 people we have some serious local challenges around housing, hardship and health, but we’re a community with deep roots, who value joy, togetherness and our green spaces.
our vision
Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust’s vision is to bring our whole community together to create a fairer, healthier, more sustainable Lockleaze. All our activities and projects are community-led, based on the priorities of our residents. Here’s what we do:
- Community Support: Hubbub, our weekly community cafe brings people together, alongside advice drop-ins chosen by residents on housing, health, disability and money. We also run a thriving Friendly Thursday group where our diverse community comes together to sew, craft and create and regular Community Feasts.
- Health and Wellbeing: Weekly Wellbeing Walks, Art for Wellbeing, regular health and mental health drop-ins, and exercise classes for all.
- Climate Action and Nature Recovery: Growing community as well as climate action through our award-winning Really Wild Lockleaze nature recovery programme, our Lockleaze Community Climate Action Plan and our wonderful Buzz Community Garden.
- Housing and Energy: building Community-Led Housing on Constable Road in response to local need, supporting the Lockleaze Local Lettings Policy and working with partners on home energy and retrofit.
- Community Spaces: stewarding The Hub on Gainsborough Square and our temporary space at St James Church on Romney Avenue, and growing plans for a new community centre and cafe. You can hire our spaces or attend a class or event.

- Play Patch Community Soft Play: is a friendly space bringing families together with their under 5s to connect to their community, engage in safe, creative play, and enjoy healthy home-cooked meals. Find out more here.
- Speaking Truth to Power – working with Bristol institutions to get our community voice heard, improve their ways of working and creating change from the roots up – including our upcoming Community Forum.

Our Lockleaze Community Plan 2026-30
LNT are led by our community in everything we do. In 2025 and 2026 we refreshed our community plan through a new community survey and thousands of conversations. The new Our Lockleaze Community Plan for 2026-30 sets out an exciting and actionable plan for our community, and forms the backbone of our actions for the future.
