The Lockleaze Local Lettings Policy was co-developed by the Lockleaze community and Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust in order to prioritise social and affordable housing for local residents.
The policy aims to help people in housing need to stay connected to their community and support networks. It ensures that a portion of new social and affordable homes, particularly in community-led housing projects, are allocated to individuals with a local connection to Lockleaze.
LNT have worked with Bristol City Council to ensure that the policy is implemented on new developments across Lockleaze.
Eligibility: To be considered for the Local Lettings Policy, you must be registered with Home Choice Bristol and meet their criteria for housing need. You’ll need to demonstrate a connection to Lockleaze eg current or recent residency or employment. Priority Housing: For some new housing developments, up to 50% of new social and affordable homes will be allocated to those meeting the local connection criteria while some community-led housing project may allocate 100%. Keep an eye on our news for upcoming bidding opportunities.
