Lockleaze Community Feasts

This year, we're making new connections by sharing a series of fun, free, community meals.

In 2025, we worked with members of the Lockleaze community to put on eight Community Feasts! Each feast was an opportunity to come together over free food, celebrate our community and most importantly to make new connections and enjoy each others’ company. Some of the feasts were created in partnership with 91 ways, who are experts in creating beautiful events that bring people together over food. The feasts were spread throughout the year, and each feature food to share and a theme for us to come together around.

A wonderful way to bring people together to help our community grow.

The first Community Feast was Lockleaze Community Iftar, on Saturday 22nd March. This event was organised by residents to celebrate Ramadan and bring our whole community together over a shared meal. A massive thank you to our wonderful residents who planned, co-hosted and attended.

It’s really nice to see everyone in the community eating together, it feels like a family gathering.

In April we had our second feast, focused on families. Seventy people shared a Turkish meal made by Fatma with support from 91 ways. Bristol Civil Service Table Tennis Club offered free coaching on the table tennis table, and the children and families had a lovely time getting to know each other. We also had lots of new additions to the Lockleaze Wildlife Map, and opportunities to think together about how we can all contribute to our community.

Community Feasts continue as part of our Lockleaze Together project.
