Harvest Feast with Lockleaze Singers

Share, Eat, Sing – that’s all we need.

Thank you to everyone who came along and contributed to our fourth Community Feast of the year. 73 people from all walks of life joined us to celebrate the arrival of autumn.

And what a feast it was!

On the day, we had Masala Chicken, Vegan Tofu Donuts, Gol Gappa, Cheese Manakeesh, Korean Cucumber Salad, Dahl, Apple Cake, Trifle, Mooncakes and so much more…!

three people lean over a very long table with multiple dishes including cut fruit and a flowery tablecloth

But what made the feast special wasn’t just the great mix of food – it was the great mix of people who brought it, shared it and enjoyed it together.

As one resident said:

“It’s lovely to see cross-age, cross-culture enjoying each other’s company.”

And another one said:

“Sharing food, trying new foods, and making everybody smile – that’s what it’s all about! =) ”

Our wonderful volunteer Angela, who runs the Sunday Buzz Community Garden sessions, also brought along some of the produce she grows and shares with our residents. What better way to celebrate the season than with food grown right here in our community?

8 courgettes of various sizes and shapes

And then came the singing!

We were very happy to welcome Lockleaze Singers to perform with us during the Autumn Feast. From Living on a Prayer to Baa Baa Black Sheep, they brought plenty of good energy, smiles and singing to the room – a perfect way to end the feast.

A big thank you to everyone who cooked, brought food, helped out, sang, shared, chatted and simply came along. It’s all of you who make these Community Feasts what they are.

Watch this space for our next Community Feast. And if you have an idea, or would like to get involved and contribute, we’d love to hear from you – contact maria@lockleazent.co.uk.
