OUR LNT OPEN DAY AND AGM A GREAT SUCCESS

We were delighted to welcome so many people to our LNT Open Day and Annual General Meeting last week.

We began the day with Hubbub Café, sharing warm drinks and low cost food, as well as a slide show of photos and films of our work here at Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust.  A great opportunity for our Hubbub regulars to catch up with some of the work we’ve been doing in the past year and a half, and maybe see themselves on the big screen!

We showcased a selection of display stands showcasing the many projects we run here at LNT – including our work around Community Action, our nature recovery project Really Wild Lockleaze, our adventure building Community-Led Housing in Lockleaze and our Walks programme.

The party began when the AGM started, voting through our annual accounts and new trustees for the coming year. Our CEO Melissa Blackburn gave a short presentation about all the work we did in 2024-5 from Really Wild Lockleaze to our first Community-Led Iftar; from our Active Lockleaze project to Buzz Community Garden. We talk about our plans are for the future – building an LNT for our whole community, where everyone can share their talents, time and skills and get involved in creating a fair, joyful Lockleaze.

Mel reminded us that one of the things we can do right now is fill in our Lockleaze Community Survey, which we will be running for the next couple of months. If you care about Lockleaze and want to have your say, fill the survey in today! (LINK)

And then we put out a long table, and it was time for our shared Feast.

“Thank you to all the team -what a lovely evening with great company.”

Everyone also had the opportunity to review and add their comments to the Community Plan refresh, and meet the LNT team. It was also a chance to meet some of our amazing trustees, all who give their time as volunteers, sharing their skills and expertise to guide and govern LNT. It was a very sociable few hours and it was wonderful to have so many conversations happening. Our thanks to all our partners who came to support, and a shout out to Nico’s kitchen for the delicious buffet.

If you missed it, you can read our 2024/25 Impact Report here and check out all the display boards below, along with some more pictures of the evening. Remember you can talk to the team about any of this work- just pop in or give us a ring/email.
