What Goes on on a Wellbeing Walk?

What’s the best way to deal with the grotty weather? Plan to get out anyway and walk in the woods. Last Weds we did just that – and walked our postponed January walk. And it was glorious – we were strollers and rollers and we got out and enjoyed what turned out to be the best weather of the month!

The views through the mainly leafless trees showed us rich green mosses and soft brown leaves against the darkened branches. We saw the newer dead hedges and discussed what they were, about ash dieback and a new word for some – fractals – and how those patterns show up in nature.

We worked together to help each other walk or roll better through the slightly slippery bits. And we even learnt a bit of British Sign Language  – how to sign “tea” and “coffee” – before we came back to the Hubbub Cafe for a warm drink and more of a chat.

So – lots happens on a Wellbeing Walk – gentle exercise, meeting new people, learning new things – and feeling better for it. So do come and join the next ones – on Weds 18th March, 15th April and 20th May, 10-11.30am starting at the Hub on Gainsborough Square.
