Terrific Trees Walk on a Tuesday

A collaboration with Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust, Bristol City Council and Steve England Outdoor Learning.

We are working together to promote community conversations about your heritage conservation priorities and which access improvements are needed for Stoke Park.

Thank you to the 21 residents who joined us for the Terrific Trees walk on Tuesday.
This was our 7th event in this exciting free programme and it really was a beautiful morning. We had fun in the sunshine visiting a variety of trees and learning all about their practical uses.

From medicine and food to which is the best for cordage, we found out how to identify them and even learnt which trees are the best for fire wood and which ones are the best for longbows. Steve shared his knowledge so we could all learn something new.
We also learnt about the interesting relationship between fungi and trees and saw some glow under ultra violet light.

“I loved finding out about the fungi and its importance in the woods”

“Trees have so many uses-thank you for a really interesting walk”

“I had so much fun and learnt loads-thank you!”

As we explored Stoke Park we also discussed some of the heritage features and how this project is supporting people to join the conversation.
Please don’t forget to complete your feedback.
