Join the Lockleaze Butterfly Spotters!

Really Wild Lockleaze are starting a project to track our local butterfly population! We’ll work together to gather surveys from gardens and parks, to create a report on all the butterflies in Lockleaze.

This is inspired by the BS3 wildlife group‘s yearly butterfly report, and our data will join theirs to create an even better Bristol-wide map. People in Lockleaze have also done lots of work on butterflies, from the Field Stories art trail to the Insect Parade to planting wildflowers for the small blue butterfly. Tracking butterflies has also been suggested by lots of local people as a way for those who find it harder to leave their home to be a part of Really Wild Lockleaze.

Become a Butterfly Spotter

Thursday 2nd April, 4 – 5:30pm at the Hub

In this interactive workshop you’ll learn how to identify local butterflies with Susan from Stoke Park Community Group. By the time you leave you’ll have all the tools you need to spot and identify butterflies commonly found in Lockleaze, and submit them to the collective report!

Families are welcome, and it’s a great way to get involved if you find it harder to get out and about.

Access: Step-free venue with disabled toilets. Hearing loop is available. Get in touch with any access needs/questions at reallywild@lockleazent.co.uk or 0117 914 1129

We’ll be running another one of these in early Summer- stay tuned. Many thanks to the Stoke Park Community Group.
