In July, we learnt about Mindfulness during our Wellbeing walk in Stoke Park. We stopped in the shade at the first bench, to properly arrive and to be aware of how our bodies and breathing felt at the start of the walk. This started our focus on relaxing, too.
As it was a hot day we headed towards the large chestnut tree for a second stop in the shade and met a group of volunteers working to make the paths more accessible, which was great to see. We then rested and practised focussing, especially on what we could hear and how to be non judgemental and gentle when our minds wander and we focus them back.

After that it was into the cool of the woods and a gentle walk to another place to rest and have a go at a Mindfulness practice we could do at home. By now we were all very relaxed which was lovely.
Then it was time for one last gentle walk back to the Hub and the Hubbub cafe for some good food, a refreshing cuppa and a chat with other walkers and visitors.
Next Walk: Wednesday 13th August, 10 – 11:30, starting and finishing at the Hub. We will return to the sculpture trail in Stoke Park- there’s always more to see and learn about these sculptures!
