Stepnell and Bristol City Council want your ideas to name the buildings in the housing developments at Branwhite Close and Cameron Walk. The Cameron Walk development will also include a community hall, as equivalent to the Cameron Centre.
There are five housing blocks over these developments. You can submit your ideas online, or at the paper box in the Hub.
Community day – 21st April, 11am – 8pm
There will be a Community Day from 11am – 8pm on 21st April, at Old St James Church on Romney Avenue, where you can drop in any time to vote on names that have been suggested, and learn more about the developments. There will be snacks.
Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust will also have a stall where we will be discussing the future of the community space at Cameron Walk- you’ll be able to see floor plans, learn about the timetable and we’ll be running a discussion on how best to use the space- we’re hoping to open a community cafe.

To ensure our new buildings are clear, respectful, and unique, we are following these three positive guiding principles:
Make it Unique: We want to ensure that these buildings are easy to find! To help emergency services and delivery drivers reach everyone quickly and without confusion, we are looking for original names that don’t sound like any other buildings nearby. Let’s give these blocks their own distinct identity!
Honouring Heritage: We love names that celebrate our shared history or the natural beauty of the area. To keep the focus on our collective community spirit, we are looking for names inspired by local landmarks, nature, or historical figures who have passed on, ensuring our building names remain timeless for generations to come.
Community Focused: These buildings belong to the neighbourhood. To keep our community spaces feeling authentic and local, we are choosing names that are purely civic or geographical, avoiding any brand names or commercial ties. This ensures the names truly reflect the heart of Lockleaze.”
