A huge thank you to the 40+ residents who dropped off their apples at The Hub as part of Apple Day 2025. We were super excited as the final total of apples dropped off was a record 414kg!
It was great to have a catch up with everyone, and welcome some people to the Hub for the first time. Along with your apples, you shared recipes, storage techniques and talked about how you’d been gifting and sharing apples with friends and neighbours, as everyone had a bumper crop this year. We even discovered that one local tree is almost 80 years old and still producing delicious apples!

Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust are proud to be part of this Bristol project with University of Bristol and The Cider Box to prevent food from going to landfill. You can read more about it here.
We are a collection point to make sure residents of Lockleaze and North Bristol could take part in this innovative citywide project and we are delighted so many of you will be rewarded when you collect your unique cider next Spring.
A special thank you to Kate for supporting on the day and Andy for helping load and collect all the apples.
