Every year Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust raises funds to deliver a programme of free or subsidised events as part of our affordable Christmas campaign, bringing people together to celebrate our amazing community.
This year working with Unfold Community Arts we held two lively lantern making workshops where over 35 residents created some stunning lanterns for our parade.
Unfortunately for our Light Up Lockleaze event the weather was against us so it was a quick dash rather than a lantern parade to St Marys & St James for a very warm welcome, but it didn’t deter our amazing community at all! Almost 200 local residents braved the downpour to support our annual festive event and we thank you. You are the reason we do it!

At LNT we are proud to showcase our many talented younger residents whenever we can. This year it was our pleasure to introduce the very talented 6th Form Singers from Trinity Academy who delighted everyone with their carols, including a signed version which everyone joined in. As a resident told us, “The choir was fantastic“.
We also welcomed the Bristol Youth Folk dancers whose lively entertainment included a traditional morris dance. Fantastic to see so many young people keeping traditions alive. Their combined talent and enthusiasm really energised the event.
You are all superstars.
Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust may have provided the mince pies but the fabulous team at St Marys & St James certainly bought the chocolate mint mayhem when they introduced the game between adults and children. So much fun! Well done contestants.

A big thank you to our dear friends from Boing! and Stoke Park Primary who joined the LNT staff to complete the Elf Squad this year- our count down echoed across Lockleaze as we bought our own, very loud, Christmas cheer. Thank you all for joining in.
And finally a very special mention to our Operations Manger Antonio who ensured the tree and lights were in tip top working order. He really made it look amazing!
