Community Meeting: How would you use the CIL fund?

Do you think traffic needs calming in Lockleaze? Do you want new play equipment or zebra crossings? Street lighting?

The Community Infrastructure Levy and Section 106 funding are paid to the council by developers, to address the demands that new developments place on the area.

It can pay for the provision, improvement, replacement, operation or maintenance of infrastructure, or anything else that the development could impact. There is a system to allow the community to propose ideas, and final decisions are made by a council committee.

Everyone in the community is able to put forward ideas. We’re holding a community meeting with our councillors to brainstorm and learn about the process. The deadline to submit a stage one application form is 23rd March 2026. We are able to support you to do this.

Where: The Hub, Gainsborough Square

When: Thursday 5th March, 6:00pm – 7:30pm

This venue is accessible to all- get in touch with any questions. Refreshments will be available, and accompanied children are welcome.

Area 5 Community Workshop: There is another community workshop covering our area on 12th March 2026 at Hillfields Community Centre from 6:30-8:30pm. This will be a collaborative space with council officers present to provide expertise and advice on the scope and feasibility of project suggestions. You are welcome to attend this as well.
