It has been a busy and exciting term for our climate action group. From the big screen to hands-on workshops, we’ve been hard at work using creativity to highlight environmental issues.
Treasure? The Collection
We recently headed to the Watershed for a special screening of our very own film, produced in collaboration with Watershed and UWE.
Our film is a “mockumentary” about litter titled Treasure? The Collection. It takes a unique, satirical look at the waste we find in our environment. If you missed the premiere, don’t worry—you can catch it at the Lockleaze Climate & Nature Festival on June 6th!
New Film Projects
The creativity hasn’t stopped there. We are currently filming a series of new shorts with local filmmaker Ross Wilson (Wilbee Films Ltd).
Throughout this process, we’ve been busy sharpening our skills in:
- Cinematography & Directing
- Stop-motion Animation
- Storyboarding
All of these mini-films will also be debuting at the Nature Festival, so make sure to mark your calendars!
Looking Ahead: Bees, Flowers, and Silent Discos
As we look toward next term, we are shifting our focus toward the Lockleaze Parade. Our theme? Bees and Flowers. Watch this space for more updates on how we’ll be bringing some buzz to the streets! We will be holding:
- Silent Disco Litter Pick: Cleaning up the neighborhood has never been more fun.
- Outdoor Art Sessions: Getting inspired by nature and creating art in the fresh air.
- Lockleaze Climate & Nature Festival – June 6th. Come support local talent and learn more about our climate action initiatives!
The group meets from 5:30 – 7pm on Tuesdays at St James Church, Romney Avenue. Next term starts Tuesday 21st April- contact unfoldcommunityarts@gmail.com to register.
